David Davies to leave Edinburgh Rugby

He was well respected as a player and knows what players are like, so at the very least hopefully he wont go upsetting the current group as Davies appeared to.

Exactly what you said. Sounds like he has a solid commercial head on him and at the very least he has people skills, something Davis was lacking massively on.

Might be the best signing of the season!

He is a well known figure, experienced in rugby, has work experience in both private sector and SRU business side and is apparently a nice guy and what you see is what you get! There is an awful lot of work required behind the scenes from what I have heard in order to bring a degree of professionalism to the management of Edinburgh and to make the rugby and non-rugby sides work better together.

Hopefully he will recognise the need to improve communications with and involvement of the supporters and work hard on establishing better links between the two. We have lost our way over the past 2-3 seasons and lost a lot of support and he really need to actively work hard on listening to the remaining supporters and the likes of this forum to get ideas for improvements.
